Channelling is when a soul in the Spirit world communicates with a person on the Earth plane. Many people hear spirits talking to them. Others have to learn how to listen to the communications. Mediums (in the Spiritualist churches for example) are channels. Anyone who gets messages from spirit is channelling. But quite simply, if you pray to God and you hear his answer, you are channelling. It's another word for having a conversation.

Channelling someone like the Master Maitreya, is of course, very special. But he wants all people to learn about spirituality, so will work with anyone that is open to do so. Margaret Birkin is very special in that she goes into deep trance and allows Maitreya to speak through her, using her body. This is a strange thing to experience when you first see Margaret channelling, but once you've seen her do it a few times, it becomes natural and to hear Maitreya speaking is just awe-inspiring.

The Master told me, when I decided that I wanted to teach, that he would work through me when I teach his courses. I am now strongly aware of his energy with me, and aware of the flow of words speeding up as the “thoughts” being put into my head to teach my students come rushing out. I am also aware that I have to tell specific students certain things on the subjects we are discussing – this isn't something that I know, but am being given by Maitreya.

I enjoy one-to-one courses as we can really progress at the student's pace, and pay a lot more attention on that student's specific issues in regard to the teachings. The most I have taught is four all at one time, which is a good number. I would take more, but think I would need to extend the Beginners Course to 4 days.

Yes, I'm happy to travel anywhere in the UK . Although I would ask for a contribution towards my travelling & living expenses. And arrangements for lunch would have to be organised by the student! But I am flexible and happy to go where I am needed.

At the moment I am hiring a room in our local community centre. It's a very new building, well-maintained and has a nice atmosphere. Margaret McElroy (neé Birkin) events in April 2005 were held there – so Maitreya's visited before! I hope to have my own teaching/healing centre in the not too distant future.
