Positivity

The best way to be is positive. Even when life's a struggle, we have to be determined to take a positive outlook.

Keeping in a positive frame of mind is something we have to train ourselves to do. We seem to naturally have negative thoughts pop into our heads, and worries and doubts, so it really is something we have to make up our minds that we are going to change – the way in which we think. From negative to positive!

You have probably read that being negative on a long-term basis can cause disease in our bodies, Louise Hay's book You Can Heal Your Life is a good book to find out more about this. So, this in itself should be motivation for us all to be positive as often as we can. Both in the words we use and the way in which we think.

The first thing to do is to decide to be positive! That's the easy part .. making up your mind!

Then, whenever you catch yourself thinking a negative thought, consciously change it to a positive one, and eventually this will become a habit … a Good Habit! It really is about re-training the way in which we currently think. And it is possible with determination!

A very good way to assist you is to make up some positive affirmations (short statements such as: I feel wonderful / I feel happy / I am strong and confident, for example) about how you want to feel and how you want to be in your life, on a daily basis. Repeat these in the shower when you're getting up in the morning, or stick them on a Post-It Note on your desk – somewhere where you'll see them regularly and be able to repeat them either in your head quietly, or out loud.

When you have a physical ailment your affirmation should be “I am healed and healthy, every cell of my body is whole”. And imagine yourself as healed and healthy. Feeling the thing that you want to be is key to positivity and success.

Finally, write yourself a Happi List – the things you love to do – and keep this list with you, so that if you ever feel low, you can look at your list, which will cheer you up – and chose to do something on your list very soon! You will find an instant change from sad to Happy! Good luck!
