People sometimes tell me they find it difficult to meditate as their minds are ‘always busy', and when I first started to meditate I didn't know ‘what to do'. If this rings true with you, you can use that ‘busy-ness' and turn it into a conversation with your Guardian Angel, Spirit guide or God. It doesn't matter ‘who' you talk to, or what name or label you give this ‘being' – the important thing is to have a growing relationship with them so that whenever you feel ‘all alone in the world' you'll always have a friend close by to talk to.
Mad? Well, that's what they used to say, “You must be mad if you're talking to yourself.” But we know a lot more these days and if it works – who cares what other people think!
My children are in Australia this Christmas and many best friends overseas but I‘ll be spending Christmas with my mother, sister and friends. However, I'm living alone and working from home for the first time in my life and I sometimes feel lonely. I'm not looking for the sympathy vote! But the connection I get when meditating fills me with the same happiness (if not better) than that I experience when spending time with my loved ones … I look forward to meditating! It really makes me happy - it's as simple as that.
People come and go from our lives. It's inevitable – this is life. We lose touch with friends, loved ones pass away, children grow up and, quite rightly, become independent, and relationships break down. So one thing we can be sure of is the love from our Angels – they will never leave us - and by forming a strong connection to them you will never be lonely, even if you miss your loved ones.
